Cloudy Skies

Get those clouds out of the way

I want to see your sun rays

They are blocking my view

All I want is to be with you

Why can’t I see the light

Too many clouds in sight

They’re black and grey and blue

Are you still shining through?

I see some rays behind the blues

Am I getting closer to you?

Where are you when it’s clouds

And dark skies?

Where are you when my mind

And heart lies?

Your light is what I need and seek

A heavenly invasion to keep

Lift up these cloudy eyes

And silence these heavy sighs

I thank you Lord

Your love and truth shine

To a cloudy dark soul

That once was mine

Presence

I remember when you first found me

On a trail, with the wind, above the city

I asked for you and you showed me

What it was to be in your presence

I remember when you first held me

In the blizzard canyon, in the snow

I felt so alone and you showed me

What it was to be in your presence

I remember when you first freed me

In the still of night where I wept

Surrendering all within and you showed me

What it was to be in your presence

I remember when you chased me

In the pouring rain, in the light of day

Wherever I ran, you came and showed me

What it was to be in your presence

I remember when your joy and love

Pursued me and joined me to you

When I danced and praised, and worshipped

I remember

What it is to be in your presence

Dove

Cards, words, and seconds gone by

My mind is empty, my thoughts gone dry

I think to embrace you I might be shy

My mind is empty and my soul cries

It’s a struggle to love from what I have

As a woman, just a woman, so sad

All I have to give is only anything

When so freely I give Him everything

How will anyone ever satisfy me

When my mind is empty

And my thoughts gone dry

I don’t think they’ll ever love me

The only way to know true love

Is to let Him in and let the dove

Of His Holy Spirit

Be my beloved
