Free Slurpee — I.

“Alright, we’re going to wrap up and head out,” the SANE nurse said to me, quickly looking away.

She said that too fast. I thought, shifting myself to look around for my things.

I. Knew. Something. Was. Off.

“Oh no,” said the nurse, “you’re going to stayyy here.” she dragged out the word ‘stay’. Maybe it was to sound nice.. but she was speaking so fast it sounded anything but nice. The woman was growing more and more rushed by the minute.

I started to suspect something meant I was in trouble or…

“Wait—what? Why?” I asked pulling the blankets from off of me.

I shifted my gaze down to the IV in my arm and wondered when in the hell they were gonna get that damn thing outta me.

“There’s a crisis worker who is going to speak to you. It’s just standard procedure,” she paused, “nothing to worry about.” she said looking away.

She motioned with one of her hands a kinda— let’s hurry this shit tf up—to the rape victim advocate who was packin his things on the other side of the hospital room. Also, rushed and all the while looking away.

That’s when I knew in my soulyy..

This is all bad.

They finna take you.

Yep, you know it’s true—

They gonna take you and they gon lock you away.

They got you now.

Ya played right into they’re hands.
